Welcome to the Social Media Voices Project

by SMV Project on October 3, 2009

technologyWhen faced with a totally new situation, we tend always to attach ourselves to the objects, to the flavor of the most recent past.   We look at the present through a rear-view mirror.  We march backwards into the future. . .”

The Medium is the Message, Marshall McLuhan

The Social Media Voices (SMV) Project exists to prepare small business owners for the age of new media marketing.  Our goal is to educate small business owners about:

  • The fundamental shifts in marketing and buyer behavior
  • How and why emerging technology, web 2.0 and digital media are evolving as communication mediums
  • How business practices will be influenced by new media marketing

Our goal is to equip small business owners with a futuristic approach to new media marketing as opposed to a “rear-view mirror” understanding of their changing environment.

The SMV Project focuses on leveraging the voices of thought leadership with the intent of sifting through the noise, tackling concrete concepts, and providing fresh and clear perspectives on adapting the use of emerging technology.
